Hypertonic Saline Injection Procedure
Hypertonic saline injections are administered to breakdown scar tissue. This injection can be helpful for the treatment of back and leg pain from scar tissue following failed back surgery syndrome, disc disruption, and pain that does not respond to spinal pain medications or spinal stimulation. Although uncommon, risks include bleeding, nerve damage, infection and allergic reaction to the medication.
