Navtej Purewal, M.D.
Trained as a physician in the United States, Dr. Purewal still remembers his roots each year when he travels to his native home of India. During his travels, he makes a special point to educate doctors and medical staff in India about the successes of pain management treatments worldwide. He provides local medical clinics with valuable tools and medication to help treat patients with painful conditions. He gives back to his community in an attempt to restore function to those who do not have access to the advanced health care available in other nations of the world. His donation of time and resources shows a compassion for patient care that really demonstrates the heart behind Advanced Pain Management.
Fibromyalgia is one of the most common chronic widespread pain conditions in the United States, affecting an estimated 10 million Americans. It takes a special physician to provide treatment to patients in constant pain, and Dr. Lerner is one such physician. In 2008, his exceptional patient care and medical expertise was recognized by The National Fibromyalgia Association and the American Pain Foundation. Dr. Lerner was nominated by one of his patients for the Helping Hands: Making a Difference in Fibromyalgia Award, designed to recognize Healthcare Professionals who have made a significant difference in the lives of people with fibromyalgia. He was one of six winners nationwide, and his award demonstrates that at Advanced Pain Management, patient care is our top priority.
